The UNLV Military & Veteran Services Center (MVSC), "Rebel Vets" and the UNLV Alumni Veteran Club present the 6th annual Operation Battle Born (OBB): Ruck to Remember, May 22-25, 2026. Join us for our two-day ruck march to honor the fallen heroes from the Global War on Terror. The event includes an opening ceremony on Friday, May 22, 2026, followed by the ruck march on Saturday and Sunday and a closing ceremony on Memorial Day, May 25.  

Operation Battle Born honors those killed in action in Iraq or Afghanistan during our 22-year war. Over two days, teams of attendees and veterans will take turns carrying four rucksacks 60 miles from Amargosa Valley to the Las Vegas city limit via 10-mile legs. These 4 rucksacks contain a combined 7,000 service members' dog tags, including the 59 Nevadans who have fallen in the Global War on Terror. We will honor these service members by carrying them into Las Vegas and symbolically laying them to rest in a ceremony at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
