The VFW conducted its first poppy distribution before Memorial Day in 1922. becoming the first veterans' organization to organize a nationwide distribution.

For more than 90 years, the National Home has helped Military and veteran families who need a fresh start.
For 2024 July fourth celebration our Post sat in the extreme heat giving out Poppies and small US Flags at Bass Pro. The turnout was great, and we got to talk to many veterans and listened to some of their life experiences. We also got lots of donations and new members thru sign ups. Thanks to the members and several of their wife's that endured the heat in this year's Poppy give away.
