Thomas "Tom” Nieva was elected Commander of VFW Post 12101 for 2026-2027. Tom is a Gold Life Legacy VFW member who earned his VFW eligibility serving in the Republic of Korea and retired as a U. S. Air Force Master Sergeant with over 20 years of service. 

After his Air Force service, Tom worked over 22 years at the Nevada System of Higher Education/System Computing Services before retiring as Director of Network Services/NevadaNet. 

In retirement he is a member of various support organizations for disabled children and children in need of medical care as well as volunteers at a local Vet Center in the Las Vegas Valley. He also has life membership in Disabled American Vets (DAV). 

As Post Commander, Tom hopes to continue serving the community and helping other veterans.
